Call for Forum Participants
Listening SIG and Materials Writers SIG Joint Forum (2025)
THEME:
Listening practice is an important component in many English classrooms. While many teachers may use a textbook, some may wish to design and implement their own teaching materials for listening, but they may not know exactly what is involved in preparing such resources. In this joint forum between the Listening and Materials Writers SIGs, attendees will learn the different aspects of developing appropriate materials for listening practice.
CLOSED
CALL for PRESENTERS:
Are you currently designing your own listening materials? Are you interested in sharing and discussing what is involved in designing appropriate resources for teaching and practicing listening? If yes, we would love to have you participate in our joint forum at JALT 2025 in Tokyo. This year’s forum will be face to face and will take place on either Saturday November 1st or Sunday November 2nd.
The first part of the forum (60 minutes) will consist of 6 presentations focusing on aspects of listening material design followed by a 30-minute discussion.
If you would like to submit a proposal to join our forum, please do so by 5 PM on Monday May 26, 2025.

*Please understand that there can be no more than 6 presenters for the forum. Accepted presenters will be contacted no later than Thursday May 29.
